Mr. Sage served as a
Lieutenant in the United States Coast Guard and was stationed
in New Orleans. When his tour of duty was completed, he
returned to New York where he worked as a production artist
and designer for several adverstising agencies. Mr. Sage
returned to New Orleans in 1971 to begin a career as a
printmaker and painter. The area has been his home and
artistic inspiration ever since.
Mr. Sage's talent for
etching on copper plates and individually hand printing them
on an English press is a classic skill combining the expertise
of the artist and artisan. He works in color as well as black
and white. His prints richly portray the life of the south
including his perception of the traditions of New Orleans. Mr.
Sage's prints are executed in the traditional manner of master
intaglio printmakers. All are printed on the finest papers.

sequentially. Mr. Sage's work has been collected by art lovers
